I have been teaching Biology 109 partially online in Summer 2003, and fully online in winter and summer sessions since then.

Since the Spring 2005 I also have been teaching Blended Online Biology 109 that have online lectures and in-classroom orientation, labs, and tests.

http://blackboard.frostburg.edu has following documents:

  1. Announcements for course-related news, updates, etc.
  2. Course Information: a) How to study more efficiently b) How to use online material efficiently; c) How to write your paper; d) Review lists; e) Prepare for field trip, etc.
  3. Course Documents: For each lecture there are following documents: a) Lecture outline; b) PowerPoint Presentation; c) Review questions.
  4. Assignments: An online quiz for each lecture.
  5. Tools: You can use the Digital Drop Box to turn in your paper electronically; you can also send email to the instructor and classmate(s).
  6. Grade Book: You will know your grades of your online quizzes immediately after your submitted your quizzes. You can also see your scores of your Lab worksheets, Lab tests, and Lecture Exams, etc.
  7. There are more things.
