Frostburg State University
Title:
Assistant Professor
Department:
Sociology and
Women’s Studies
I began college at Northern Illinois University certain I wanted to be a doctor. I wasn’t that far off, but it took awhile for me to realize I wanted to be a different kind of doctor. After switching from a biology/pre-med major to Sociology and Psychology, I finished my B.S. in sociology with an emphasis in criminology and a minor in psychology.
I earned a Ph.D. from the Department of Sociology at Michigan State University in May 2008 with an emphasis in feminist sociology. My dissertation research focused on identity, gender, and sexuality and the intersection of these areas in the experiences of bisexual women.
I recently joined the faculty at Frostburg State University as an Assistant Professor appointed jointly in the Department of Sociology and the Women’s Studies Program .
