THE JOURNAL OF THE SOCIOLOGY OF ART

The journal has a particular interest in examining what is an art world and who or what are the significant players. Attention to issues related to race, gender, class, or power are also of interest. Case studies are accepted that examine movements or collaborative efforts by artists. A strong desire to explore who collects what and how an artist promotes herself or himself and becomes recognized is desired. The journal seeks to explore and define art worlds. Quantitative as well as qualitative work is acceptable for submission.
